Brent Miller was elected to Place 1 on the Scottsboro City Council on August 28, 2012. This is his first term on the Scottsboro City Council and was his first attempt at public office.
Mr. Miller graduated Scottsboro High School in 1997 and attended Northeast Alabama Community College. He owns and operates The Portrait Collection, a photography studio in Scottsboro. Prior to owning his own business, Mr. Miller worked in management for 10 years in the retail and advertising industry.
Mr. Miller is the son of Dennis and Mary Miller. His father Dennis is the former Sheriff of Jackson County and was elected to the Jackson County Commission on November 6, 2012. His siblings include Jeff Miller, Beth Miller, Danny Miller, LuAnne Tubbs, Joey Miller and Stephen Miller. He is an active member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Scottsboro. Mr. Miller hosts international exchange students and is a local coordinator for the organization. Bringing students into our culture and sharing with them the beauty of Scottsboro, while learning new customs is a passion Mr. Miller enjoys.
The priority of Scottsboro and its citizens are what drives Mr. Miller to succeed as a member of the Scottsboro City Council. He is excited for the opportunity given to him by the people of Scottsboro to serve and hopes to fulfill his commitment to the people with honesty and integrity. |
